Left, Robin van Persie was happy to receive the Player of the Year award on Thursday |
With Arsenal lying third in the English Premiere League and are on the brink of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, Robin Van Persie has proved to be a worthy player as he has scored thirty five goals this season in all club competitions. It is evident that Arsenal cannot afford to lose its forward as the club's supporter love him and his fellow teammates have praised him for his professionalism. Arsenal also needs to ensure that there will not be a repeat of last season, when prolific players such as the likes of Cesc Febregas and Samir Nasri were snatched by clubs with bigger budgets. Arsenal is prominent for being a club that does not buy expensive players but develop ordinary players into football stars. In the past seasons, Arsenal have rather been reactive in the transfer market as they have sold their players without replacing them immediately.
Van Persie has expressed his happiness at Arsenal and one would not imagine him with any other team than Arsenal. His manager is also confident that he will stay with the team. He mentioned in a press conference " I think what is important for us is that we find an agreement with him to be happy and to stay and finish his career here. I cannot guarantee that it will go well, but I am quite confident." Massages communicated by clubs are often accurate, I am not an Arsenal supporter but I would be delighted to see Robin stay and finish his career with 'The Gunners'.

I think Van Persie should stay on at Arsenal, as he has made a name for himself there and with the signing of Lucas Podolski for next season, Arsenal will be unstoperble if they have both Robin and Podolski in their line up. My other concern is that he might leave Arsenal for teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona and end up being a bench warmer as those teams have top class players in the field and on their reserve side, so Van Persie should stay on at Arsenal.
ReplyDeleteRVP is deadly infront of goals, he is one of the best and most feared forwards in europe. Moving to any of the spanish giants will be career suicide, he should remain at arsenal for another season or two. Cannot wait to see him upfront with Podolski.
ReplyDeleteArsenal has a good image reputation because of its young vibrant talented young stars,it clearly shows that the Senior Officialls know how much important it's to invest.Hopefully other "Big teams" will adopt such method instead of hoping too much on old players.
ReplyDeleteHe will stay at emirates, we as Gunner fans we really need him. imagine him twinning with podolsk in front of the goal post
ReplyDeleteThomas i doubt he will go to Madrid because he is aware of the level of competition there
ReplyDeleteMolebogeng, Podolski and van Persie are a good combination my worry is that they are both left footed
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Lucky, Arsenal develops players, it does not buy a lot of big named players
ReplyDeleteMxolisi, Robin and Lucas are going to be deadly up front
ReplyDeleteSouth African foot ball could learn a thing or two from Arsenal...The development of new stars is vital and it should be put into practice in our sa football.
ReplyDeleteArsenal develops players from all over the world, but what i like about teams such as Orlando Pirates is that they first look at developing local players
ReplyDeletethe development of new stars in Arsenal is on point... why cant South African foot ball learn a sonethings from Arsenal? if they can put into practise what Arsenal is doing, then SA football will be the best football.
ReplyDeleteRVP has turned out to be one of the best strikers in the game of football its about time they award him for his contribution in the beautiful game
ReplyDeleteRobin is a very good player and who would'nt want to hold on to him...I mean he is talented extremelly talented.
ReplyDeletePebetse some teams such as Orlando Pirates do develop their players and promote them to the senior team
ReplyDeleteIagree with you Tsholo, but we should not forget that he was challenged with injuries as analysts would say that he is injury-prone
ReplyDeleteRefi, any team would hold on to him but at what price will they, is the question to be asked
